The Great Basin Murders

Visual The Great Basin Murders

A collaborative exhibition of original weavings by Lily Martina Lee and photography by Carrie Quinney that explores a series of unsolved murders of women in the Great Basin from the 1970s to 90s. Weavings are created using statistical data from each case and paired with landscape photographs at the site each victim was found. The exhibition aims to broach the anonymity of unidentified human remains while considering violence against women and the backdrop of the Western landscape.
