Music Artown on the Quad: String Theory Quartet

Ruth Lenz is concertmaster of both the Reno Philharmonic and Reno Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the Classical Tahoe Orchestra. Dr. Lenz appears regularly with La Musica International Chamber Music Festival, Nevada Chamber Music Festival, Apex Concerts, Festival Napa Valley, Aurelia Chamber Players, and the Tahoe Chamber Music Society. Past performances include: Spoleto Festival, Telluride Chamber Music Festival, Carpe Diem String Quartet, Kammermusiktage in Barth, Germany, and the Mayshad Festival in Morocco. Johnny Lenz - Cello: Johnny Lenz began his musical career at the age of two under the tutelage of his family of professional musicians. Johnny has been a frequent soloist with area orchestras, as well as a performer of chamber music for the past twenty years. Jessica Escobar is the second violinist in the String Theory Quartet. She gave the group its name inspired by its physicist cellist. Jessica also suggested the name Horizons for KNCJ Reno's weekly radio program on emerging classical music by Chris Morrison. She plays in the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and other regional musical ensembles. Dustin Budish studied at Oberlin College and the Cleveland Institute of Music with Jeffrey Irvine where he received his BM in Viola Performance and then received his MM with honors at the New England Conservatory. As a member of the Verbier Festival, Mr. Budish traveled across the globe for performances in Europe, Asia, and India. FREE PARKING after 5pm at Whalen Garage!
