Learning to be Lost by Reno City Artist Rossitza Todorova

The Metro Gallery at Reno City Hall is hosting Learning to be Lost, a solo exhibition by 2022-23 Reno City Artist Rossitza Todorova. The show will run from June 19 to August 4, 2023, and will showcase new paintings by Todorova that embrace the metaphorical concept of being lost within the desert landscape. The artist reception will take place on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5 - 7 p.m., and visitors will have a chance to engage with Todorova and learn more about her work. Admission to the exhibition is free, making it accessible to all community members. In this exhibition, I use the desert landscape as a metaphor for navigating life's uncertainties. I invite viewers to contemplate their own paths, acknowledging the moments when goals and reality may diverge. Drawing inspiration from the desert survival strategies like navigating by the stars and discerning mirages, I seek to evoke a visceral experience of being lost, ultimately finding solace in the shared human pursuit of traversing uncertainty.
