Artown On The Quad: Institute For Young Dramatic Voices
The Institute was born of a desire to develop young opera singers and to address the lack of dramatic voices in the opera world, in particular for the great roles of Verdi and Wagner. This innovative 3 week intensive program is generously hosted by University of Nevada Reno for singers with large or unusual voices aged 15-36 at varying levels of development. Students study with an esteemed international faculty who understand the real demands of this challenging career and know what the most important opera houses are really looking for. Our faculty provides a solid foundation of skills a professional singer needs to embark upon and survive a career in opera. The program is tuition free and based on merit only. As such we are dependent on donations. Your support not only adds to the culture of this community and international opera houses, it also provides training and connections for talented aspiring opera singers who would not otherwise be able to afford to work with teachers and coaches at this level. Come and hear exceptionally talented young singers perform favorite opera arias in Italian and other languages presented by Dolora Zajick's Institute held annually in Reno, offering several FREE concerts throughout the program sponsored by First United Methodist Church, University of Nevada Reno, and Edna B. & Bruno Benna Foundation. We are thrilled to be part of Artown and look forward to welcoming you at our concerts.
