Misael Flamenco

Music Misael Flamenco

MISAEL FLAMENCO Free Concert, Donations Requested - Originally from Mexico, Misael began playing flamenco guitar as a self-taught musician around the age of fifteen. His hunger and devotion towards the Andalucian artform led him to study in Spain with world-renown flamenco guitarist Oscar Herrero, who was instrumental in guiding Misael to become the artist he is today. In 2010, Misael was awarded first prize at the Concurso Nacional de Flamenco in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA), at the prestigious Festival de Flamenco. The artist also placed 1st in ten major classical guitar competitions. Since then Misael has become one of the top flamenco guitarists in the United States, and is sought after for his skills as a soloist and as an accompanist. He constantly performs with the top flamenco companies in his area: Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo, Flamenco Por la Vida, Julia Chacon Flamenco Theatre, Phoenix World Arts Collective, and Yumi la Rosa Flamenco. Misael is currently involved in the recording and production of multiple discographic projects, but is extremely pleased to be able to present his latest album El Camino Forjado. Opening Act Daniel Roest brings a lifetime of involvement in guitar to his teaching, performing and presenting. He has given countless solo and ensemble performances in nearly every kind of venue. As a presenter, Daniel has hosted a long list of guitar luminaries. Daniel served as Director of the Sacramento and South Bay Guitar Societies.
