My Story Photographic Exhibit - The Stories Continue
Looking beyond the many faces of dementia, Arbors Memory Care Community will host “My Story” - a photographic exhibition of Arbors Residents' portraits by local photographer Jesse Hon. “Providing person-centered care – that is, tailoring a person's care to their interests, abilities, history and personality – is fundamental to our mission at Arbors,” says Executive Director Amanda Jenkins. “This exhibit furthers our mission, as it focuses on the people behind the photographs and their unique life stories,” she adds. Nearly 7 million people are diagnosed with dementia in the United States, today. While they are ultimately robbed of their memory and other cognitive functions, each person has a unique life experience, full of stories and wisdom, which deserve to be shared, with dignity and respect. This will be an escorted walking tour with set tour times (please call Arbors to set your time) during the week.
