Mixed Media- Resin Plank

This workshop taught by in-house artist Donna Smit will guide students through a mindful creative process reusing planks of wood to create a one of a kind, dimensional piece of hanging art. This workshop, you have the option of creating your multimedia project in a frame. Planks will be painted with acrylic paint, in a variety of color options, prior to class to allow drying time. Students will have access to a wide variety of materials and explore textures and layering. Students will learn to break bottles, vases, and cups to create a unique design. Crash glass, stained glass, and even plastic can be used to create beautiful artwork. Vintage jewelry can be used as well and students are encouraged to bring baubles from home. Resin will be the final process and will cover the entire piece. Each plank will have alligator brackets installed for ready to hang. Plank is approx 5x18, Frame is 12x12. Pieces need to be left for a couple of days to cure. This workshop is appropriate for Ages 14+. Class is limited to eight students and pre-registration is required
