Join Copper Cat Studio in welcoming silk painting artist Louise Noel for her quarterly class offering, as we open up our workshop series for Artown! Louise guides students on a one day journey into the brilliant and joyous realm of silk painting. Students have the option to paint a LONG 54x8 scarf or a SQUARE 21 x 21 scarf. Louise guides students using the Sert (closed fence method of silk painting). An assortment of patterns is available for students to choose from. We will use various resists...dive into vibrant color, play with surface treatments, use alcohol and salt to create texture and movement. Students may not finish during the time allotted, but all supplies are yours to keep and finish at home. Steam setting will be provided after scarves are completed (Louise provides an envelope to send the scarves to her if you are finishing at home) so that you can proudly wear or display your art. Patterns are provided to assist the students in design. **Included in the class price- the student also goes home with the stretcher, additional scarf and inks to make a second scarf! Class size is limited to 7 students, pre-registration is required. This class is appropriate for ages 15+
