Off The Rails Summer Concert Series - Spacehall Sound Machine + Nightbrain
Spacehall Sound Machine and Nightbrain under the Reno Arch. Spacehall Sound Machine is a retro-inspired Global Groove band based in San Diego, CA. This psychedelic six-piece instrumental ensemble is the brainchild of Matt Bozzone (drummer) who has spent 10+ years touring with global groove artists, including Nigerian afrobeat masters Seun Kuti & Egypt 80. The sound is defined by its impeccable balancing act of deep dub, driving basslines, explosive rhythms, psychedelic explorations, and Eastern melodies. Spacehall's hypnotic grooves are designed to move bodies on the dance floor and take adventurous minds on an interstellar journey. Nightbrain is a musical troupe from the Sierra Nevada that experiments with mood and genre, blending groove, rock, Latin and synth psychedelia. They cut their teeth as musicians overplaying “Chameleon” together in high school jazz band. What has emerged since confounds their parents and delights the senses. You can find their debut album In Daylight on all major music platforms. This performance is part of a concert series happening this summer on June 27, July 18 and August 29 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Locomotion Plaza and Reno Arch. This free, outdoor event will feature local and regional musicians. Off the Rails will have a variety of musical genres creating an inclusive environment for diverse audiences to gather and enjoy live performances in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
