Music Full Blast Presents: The Jimi & Buddy Show: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Miles

As a homage to the great Buddy Miles, the composer, drummer, singer, guitarist, and original member of the Band of Gypsys with Jimi Hendrix, Cliff Porter and The Full Blast Collective have prepared an evening of remembrance to a truly legendary musician and some of the greatest works he was a part of. Buddy Miles, Born in Omaha, NE, on September 5, 1947, started playing the drums at age nine, and joined his father's jazz band the Bebops as a mere 12 year old. In 1966, he joined Wilson Pickett's touring revue, then blues-rock guitarist Mike Bloomfield. Bloomfield invited Miles to join up, and the band Electric Flag made its debut at the Monterey Pop Festival with Buddy singing with Jimi Hendrix. In 1968, Buddy formed his own band, The Buddy Miles Express, in which Jimi played a part in the producer's chair while creating the band's debut album, “Expressway to your Skull” . In Turn Buddy played on Jimi Hendrix's “Electric LadyLand” , And shortly after was a part of forming the The Band of Gypsies with Jimi Hendrix and Billy Cox. Buddy Miles had a long, successful career before passing away at the Age of 60 from Congestive Heart Failure. Cliff Porter, A True Reno native, who is also living with Congestive Heart Failure, will lead the performance embodying the true spirit of Funk, Soul, and Rhythm and Blues that Buddy Gave us for so many years. This electrifying night, Backed by the Full Blast Collective, will also feature the Legendary Trey Stone on guitar playing Jimi Hendrix.
