Nevada State Capitol

History Nevada State Capitol

This program will cover the early days (1858-1871) of Carson City, our state Capital, leading to the building of the State Capitol. We will then explore this magnificent 154-year-old building and its renovations from its opening to the present day. Tom McDonald is now a full-time volunteer with assorted local entities, including the Nevada Historical Society and the Nevada State Museum. In his role as a history docent for the NSM's Educational department, he has given hundreds of tours of the Capital Plaza and the Capitol Building that included topics focusing on the Nevada government, its buildings and the early history of the state.
