12:1 — A Show of Miniature Art

This group exhibition transforms TMCC's Main Gallery into a world of worlds—where miniature galleries exist within the gallery itself. Dollhouses are reimagined as intimate exhibition spaces, each carefully constructed and filled with tiny works by local Northern Nevada artists. These small-scale environments function as complete galleries, inviting viewers to peer inside, linger over details, and engage with art through close observation.

By shifting the scale, the exhibition encourages visitors to slow down and reconsider how they experience art. Looking becomes physical and playful—bending closer and allowing imagination to bridge the space between the miniature and the monumental. Within these dollhouse galleries, craftsmanship, narrative, humor, and experimentation take center stage, revealing how meaning can be powerfully conveyed in even the smallest of forms.

Hosted at TMCC's Main Gallery located at the Dandini Campus and in collaboration with Wedge Outside the Box, 12:1 celebrates community, collaboration, and the inventive spirit of the region's artists. By compressing the gallery experience into miniature worlds, the exhibition expands our understanding of scale, access, and wonder—reminding us that immersive experiences often begin with looking a little closer. Opening reception is on July 15th from 5-7 p.m. at TMCC's Main Gallery.
