Ageless Repertory Theatre Presents: A Majority of One

Ageless Repertory Theatre, Reno's premier readers theater, is pleased to present, “A Majority of One.” This multiple Tony award-winning, three-act comedy by Leonard Spigelgass introduces Bertha Jacoby, a sharp-tongued, no-nonsense Jewish widow from Brooklyn who harbors resentment toward Japan after losing her son in World War II. While traveling to Tokyo to live with her daughter and diplomat son-in-law, she meets Mr. Asano, a reserved, dignified Japanese industrialist and widower. Despite cultural differences and initial prejudice, they form a deep connection. Ultimately, the story highlights themes of tolerance, empathy, and personal courage, culminating in Bertha embracing love and understanding across cultural divides.
