Copper Cat Studio's in-house glass fusion and mixed media artist, Donna Smit, guides students in creating two 4x4 glass fusion garden stakes with your favorite furry friend. Two dogs, two cats or one of each! These beauties can be placed in indoor planters or outdoor gardens. This is a beginner level class and the first hour will begin with an extensive lecture on the science of glass, glass cutting and design principles. Donna will teach students several different techniques like copper inclusions and decorative elements that can be added later after kiln firing. All materials, tools for use, and garden stakes are included. Previous glass cutting experience is helpful but not necessary. Projects need to be left at the studio for a few days to be kiln-fired. Ages 15+, pre-registration required. Class size limited to eight students.
