Discover the Stained Glass of St. John's

St John's Presbyterian Church is not just a great venue for musical performances during Artown! It is a beautiful sanctuary built in 1969 adorned with stained glass windows designed and installed by Willet Hauser Architectural Glass. Learn about the history of stained glass and the design and interpretation of these strikingly beautiful windows.
St John's stained-glass installation has a rich history with an original installation in 1969 and a 2nd instillation added as an interior wall in 2005. To fully appreciate the art, our event provides a very brief history of stained glass in religious settings including a discussion of typical Christian iconography.
Each of the 27 windows will be described and interpreted based on the scripture inspiring the design. This review also allows for design comparisons to be made between 2 distinctly different artists.
