Open to all children aged 5-17 . We invite you to submit an original artwork to showcase your talent and express your imagination. The theme is “America 250” to celebrate 250 years of America. Entries will be judged based on interpretation of the theme and creativity. An official entry form must accompany entries and provide a title, an artistic statement and a signed parental/guardian consent statement. Artwork should be 2D drawings or paintings created on letter sized paper (8.5 x11 inches) using any of paints, pastels, crayons and pencils. Each entry must be an original artwork. Artistic statements must be crafted between 10 and 100 words. Submissions must be received between July 1st through July 14th. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified. Use of copyrighted material is not acceptable. Certificates of participation will be distributed to all entrants. Judges will award Certificates of Merit, Certificates of Excellence and one Outstanding Interpretation Award. A gallery display of all submissions will supersede an award recognition ceremony on July31st from 4-5 pm in the Downtown Reno Library Auditorium.
