Dancing on the River 2026

Enjoy a festive summer evening in downtown Reno with free dance lessons, live performances, and an energetic open-air atmosphere along the Truckee River. Taking place July 3–4, this free community event welcomes all ages and skill levels to gather at City Plaza and along Virginia Street for music, movement, and celebration.

Blending Latin dance and country line dancing, the event features beginner-friendly instruction, engaging performances, and social dancing in a vibrant downtown setting. Guests can join the dance floor or simply enjoy the music and atmosphere, with food and drinks available for purchase throughout the event.

Presented in celebration of America's 250th birthday, this special two-night gathering brings the community together in a spirit of unity, joy, and civic pride. On July 4, the event features the 7:04 Freedom Moment, a shared pause where the crowd comes together to recognize and celebrate American freedom.

The event also honors veterans and service members, and High Sierra Entertainment will donate to support veteran causes.
